this photo from the 1960s shows the corner of Church Lane and Vanity Lane. The cottages on the corner with the staggered roofline are now one dwelling and the frontages have been changed.
this photo was taken from the rear of the Village Hall lookind down Kibblestone Rd towards the Brushmakers on the corner of Church Lane.
Not very much seems to have changed since this picture was taken probably in the 1960s.
This picture shows the Old Post Office in Church Lane , circa early 1900s ,which is now No.5 The Fold. Mrs Malpas ,the postmistress at the time is standing in the doorway.
This picture shows the old Oulton School on the right and the wall of the old Vicarage on the left ,on the corner of Vanity Lane. The school was demolished and the site is now occupied by houses.
We can only guess who the lady and the little girl are on this photo of the old Post Office in Church Lane (now Ye Olde Post Office Bed and Breakfast)
