Many villagers will have received consultative letters from Stafford Borough Council regarding the potential re-development of Oulton Abbey.
When these plans were last submitted there was a lot of opposition from residents on planning issues, parking, increased road danger to schoolchildren, and the poor drainage infrastructure in the village. At the time, the general feeling was that some development at the Abbey should be allowed to renovate the old buildings; but the new build was too dense and inappropriate to a rural village environment. The newly submitted plans can be seen at the Stafford Bourough Council Planning Department
