A group of concerned residents turned out to protest at the removal of the iconic red K6 telephone kiosk fom the village streetscene. BT have offered the redundant kiosks to communities in locations all over the country. Over 350 parish councils have "adopted" their kiosk at a cost of just £1. However, there are ongoing costs involved such as the electricity supply (or its disconnection, if required), insurance and maintenance. Many people want to maintain the integrity of the village scene, others may not be very concerned. If you are concerned you can contact your local Parish Councillor via the Parish Clerk on 01785 811123. Alternatively, you can make your views known at the next Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 13th January 2010 at Moddershall Village Hall. All members of the public are invited to these meetings which start at 7.30 p.m. contact us
